Ms.Taylor P. Collins' style of blues is sophisticated, powerful, and funky with jazz overtones that would have blended well with Red Archibald and the Internationals "red hot blues".
Taylor has performed in the company of industry legends such as Etta James, Neville Brothers, Barbara Morrison, Albert Collins, James Cotton, Gladys Knight, Kenny Neal and the legendary Miss Ruth Brown.
Although Ms. Collins did not have the opportunity to play with Red, personally, she valued his talent and contributions musically throughout the years. The loss of her dear friend and mentor, Ruth Brown, last year still lingers in her heart as Red's loss does in ours.
The DELTA WIRES encompass the high energy harmonica and horn arrangements that Red and the international's played so well. The Delta Wires are a big harp and horn blues band from the Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area and they play some tight, tight tunes, undoubtedly why they were voted Best Live Band by readers of the East Bay Express in 2002. The Delta Wires are a popular band playing Blues Festivals all over including the Monterey Blues Festival, Crescent City Blues Festival, Central Valley Blues Festival, Oakland Blues and Heritage Festival, Blues for Biloxi Festival, and many others. The band has toured or played with Van Morrison, John Lee Hooker, Freddie King, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, John Mayal, Charlie Musselwhite, Boz Scaggs, Bad Company, The James Gang, Elvin Bishop and more.
Andrew Beal ~
The “America’s Got Talent” Sax Rock Star!
"Raw, powerful, and emotional" are often used to describe the guitar and vocal styling's of René Solis, close friend and occasional band member to Red Archibald. As the founding member of the wildly popular band NiteCry, his ability to take command of the stage and capture an audience's attention is unsurpassed. He has perfected his style to become a true virtuoso guitar player, playing tough and tender guitar with dynamics that can take you from a whisper quiet interlude to an in-your-face fiery blues solo. René pours his heart and soul into every note and his extraordinary delivery, combined with an extensive musical repertoire, have enabled him to perform at major venues across the United States, Canada, and Mexico including Monterey Blues Festival, The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Memphis in May, The Sacramento Jazz Jubilee and The San Francisco Blues Festival.
The first time we heard young Andrew Beal he was sitting in with us at Gracies in Vallejo. We were impressed and couldn't help but think about how Red would have enjoyed slammin' out some harp and sax lines on stage with him. Red was known for pulling out fledgling talent and helping them get a foot hold in the industry. Andrew is best known for his YOUTUBE video CLICK HERE on America's Got Talent and although "Mr. Big" has some pretty amazing dance moves, this dude can blow some horn!
